Cathey and Gulley Join ASU-Beebe Development Council

Arkansas State University-Beebe is pleased to announce the addition of two new members to the ASU-Beebe Development Council. New members are Tara Cathey and Laiken Gulley.

Cathey became president and chief executive officer of the Searcy Regional Chamber of Commerce in December 2023, representing over 500-member businesses in the region. Under her leadership, the Chamber focuses on economic development, advocacy, member services, quality of place and marketing. In 2020, Cathey helped the chamber achieve 4-Star accreditation from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, a distinction held by only 28 chambers in the country. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Central Arkansas. 

Gulley is the director of marketing and business development at Cabot Emergency Hospital, where she has worked since April 2023. She previously served as marketing specialist at Bledsoe Chiropractic in Conway. Gulley holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations and communication from the University of Central Arkansas. Her professional focus is on community engagement and development.

The Development Council plays a key role in supporting the college by facilitating annual endowment and planned giving efforts, which help sustain educational opportunities, building improvements and events at ASU-Beebe. 

The Development Council is composed of leaders from across the region who work to advance ASU-Beebe’s mission of providing affordable and accessible education.
