Arkansas State University-Beebe is excited to welcome Dr. Temple Grandin, a globally renowned advocate for autism awareness and animal behavior expert, as part of the 2024-2025 Lecture-Concert Series. The event will take place at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 3 in the Owen Center Theater at 1102 W. College Street in Beebe.
Dr. Grandin’s inspiring life journey, from showing symptoms of severe autism around two and a half years of age to becoming one of the most celebrated experts in animal science and autism advocacy, has inspired millions worldwide. Her groundbreaking work has led to the design of livestock handling facilities used to manage over half the cattle in the United States.
Her story, captured in the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning HBO film “Temple Grandin,” highlights her determination, creativity, and the importance of supportive mentors. Inducted into both the National Women’s Hall of Fame and The Academy of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Grandin is also the bestselling author of influential books such as “Animals in Translation,” “Thinking in Pictures,” “The Autistic Brain,” and “The Way I See It.”
The Lecture-Concert Series general admission tickets for individual performances are priced at $10, while tickets for educators, military personnel, K-12 students and seniors aged 60+ are $5. ASU-Beebe students, employees, and emeritus enjoy complimentary admission to all Performing Arts Series events upon presenting a valid identification.
