Open House Event Offers Opportunity to Explore CADD
Posted Date: 4/19/24

Arkansas State University-Beebe Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) program will present their annual CADD FAD event on Thursday, April 25.

CADD FAD, an annual gathering initiated in the spring of 2017, is a celebration that brings together current computer aided drafting and design program students, high school students from the area, program alumni, esteemed advisory committee members, and industry professionals.

“FAD is defined as an intense and widely shared enthusiasm for something,” said Kendall Casey, master instructor for Computer-Aided Drafting and Design and program director for the career education division.

Casey said the highlight of CADD FAD is the two CADD-related competitions that never fail to captivate attendees: the 2D AutoCAD drawing competition and the 3D Inventor part modeling challenge. In both events, contestants are timed to solve a given set of problems or projects using CADD software.

Beyond the competitions, CADD FAD serves as a platform for students to mingle with program alumni and industry professionals in a relaxed setting and to engage in conversations covering a wide spectrum of CADD-related projects and endeavors.

CADD program 2023 graduate Maci Moore attended last year's CADD FAD event.
